Tur was hired as a storm chaser with the VORTEX2 team of The Weather Channel. She was a part of New York City's local NBC station WNBC-TV in 2009 prior to joining the nation-wide NBC News. Her work with Donald Trump's presidential campaign resulted in the documentary Unbelievable: My Front Row seat to the Craziest Campaign In American History 2017. Tur was the person who informed Trump's presidential campaign about the Access Hollywood tape. She was honored with the Walter Cronkite Award of Excellence in Journalism in 2017.
